Self-identification with the Limited (vyaktitva)

Sensations as such, however strong, do not cause
suffering. It is the mind, bewildered by wrong ideas,
addicted to thinking: 'I am this,' 'I am that,' that fears
loss and craves gain and suffers when frustrated.
